The 82nd Annual Academy Awards (Oscars 2010)

Just as I hoped and predicted, Hurt Locker has won both the Best Director (Best Achievement in Directing) and the Best Film of 2009 (Best Motion Picture of the Year) awards. The film certainly deserved it. I would have been just as pleased if Inglourious Basterds, Up or District 9 had won them. Many people expected or hoped Avatar to win these major awards but the Oscars have once again proved that they aren't bias or stupid.

Hurt Locker is truely one of a kind not and it's only because it's a great war film, but also because it's a war film directed by a woman. Kathryn Bigelow has become the first female director to ever win the Best Director award.

However there was one little thing that kind of bothered me just now. It was the part, during the awards, where they paid tribute to the horror genre by showing a long compilation clip of horror films. And in that compilation, there was a split second of a scene from Twilight New Moon. WTF?
