"Based on the iconic radio serial, comic book and television show of the same name, this latest superhero movie adaptation chronicles the adventures of Britt Reid (Seth Rogen), a debonair newspaper publisher by day and a crime-fighting masked hero at night, along with his sidekick, Kato (Jay Chou)." -GSC.com.my

Verdict: The fans of the original TV series were probably already angered after watching the trailer of this film remake. I didn't actually watch the series back then but I, too, was unconvinced by the trailer; especially with Jay Chou filling the legendary Bruce Lee's shoes as Kato. The movie turned out just as ordinary as I expected it to be. There are a few funny gags but that's about it. The action scenes are nothing to shout about and the storyline is pretty much typical. It's an absolute waste of the brilliant Christoph Waltz, who's unable to shine in this rubbish. They've also unintelligently turned the protaganist into a total idiot. And there's no reason to watch it in 3D. No, actually, there's no reason to watch it at all. Unless you're one of those Jay Chou fangirls (or boys) who're unable to see how crap he actually is now.

Jay Chou: "I sorry to hear abrout jior father. He wazzer compax man." His "ah beng" English accent was the only constant amusement I got from this film. It's perfect for typical stereotyping Americans who actually think all Chinese sound like that when we speak in English. They obviously casted him to attract the Asian market. His acting is as terrible as always. I strongly believe that he could only perform well in films that he writes and directs himself. Namely, 'The Secret'. However, I felt a little onscreen chemistry between him and Seth Rogen. Who's contribution was that? Definitely either the director or Rogen.

You don't need supernatural powers to be a superhero, you only need to be rich. Just like Batman and Iron Man. And apparently, you don't even need to be smart. But you would need an Asian sidekick. 'Cause all the Asians in the United States know martial arts and can't speak English well. Right on.

The Green Hornet TV series in the 60s:

Real action, real acting, real plot, no special effects what-so-ever.
