Most 3D movies actually suck
Label(s):
Watching and playing 3D stuffs is the in thing now. Almost every movie released now has a 3-D version even when it wasn't filmed to be one. Many genuine 3D movies could've been completely crap if it wasn't because they have great visual effects. Probably they just tend to spend too much time and resources on that and left none for the other important departments; e.g screenplay, actors, etc.
Take James Cameron's Avatar (2009) for example; they spent 15 years to develop this one film and it turned out to be a financial success, snatching many awards as well. But was it really because its a great movie?
Visually and action wise, yes without question. Its 3-D effects were so impressive that even I got blinded from the fact that the film actually had a quite uninspiring plot and a corny script. I wonder, if the blue aliens looked more similar to a cockroach, would the protagonist still have sex with the female alien? Sorry, off topic. Maybe I'll go into this some other time.
From then on, almost every film is released in 3D with most of them being post-converted into one. Even if they were genuinely filmed with the latest 3-D technology, not all Malaysian viewers here could enjoy the effects due to the lack of cinemas that could cater to that. Not to mention about the bad 3-D glasses our cinemas provide. Uncomfortable to be worn, scratched up and very reflective to light due to the space between the glasses and the wearer's eyes. Which is why movie-lovers should probably get a 3D TV to fully enjoy 3-D films. 'Cause even if the movie sucks, at least we might be indulged by its visuals without going all the way to the cinemas and paying for what we might not get.
Many 3-D televisions are available in stores now but one that I'd like to check out and have my senses excited is the upcoming LG Cinema 3D Smart TV.
This bad boy has features that conventional 3-D TV's don't that is likely to provide users a home 3D cinema experience better than any other. It also has the Magic Motion Remote Control that operates like a mouse, and the Smart Share function that allows users to wirelessly access the contents stored in their digital devices such as computers, cameras and handphones with a simple click and view them on the TV screen. This TV is the closest thing that could trigger me to start using a television again.
Stay tuned as I might get a first-hand opportunity to review the TV before its official launch on the 9th of next month. For more info on LG TV's, go here - http://www.lg.com/my/tv-audio-video/televisions/televisions.jsp.

Bro, would love to read more about "Why 3D Movies Suck" from your point of view. Was sorta expecting that - an elaborated explanation. But the ending here is a bit anti-climax. :)
