So what're you waiting for, my review? It might be too late when I finally got time to write it. If you're a hardcore SHM fan, I believe you'd appreciate this film very much, and this is coming me, who's totally not a fan of DJ's. The documentary's raw and honest with minimal dramatisation. You'd also get to see them disregarding our Malaysian "culture" when they were here as part of the One Last Tour. Will talk more about that in my full review on the film. Simply put, if you're a fan, you wouldn't want to miss watching this on big screen.

LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND explores three of the biggest stars in the electronic music scene, a scene which has gripped youth the world over. The film displays an insight into this world, the psychology of the band, plus the sheer scale of the tour itself and the band's outstanding global achievements.

Executively produced by Jonas Åkerlund (Spun, Madonna: I’m Going to Tell You a Secret) the film’s world premiere was in March during the infamous SXSW Festival.

In New York, where they became the first electronic act to sell out Madison Square Gardens – twice! – the film was shown at the historic Ziegfeld Theatre in mid-town, the largest single screen cinema in the city renowned for its high-end premieres. On the West Coast, in LA, the film was screened in the centre of Hollywood at the iconic Cinerama Dome – close to Los Angeles State Historic Park where 70,000 fans raved to their Masquerade Motel in March 2013.

On the other side of the world, in Sydney, where the band sold out the massive Showground Olympic Stadium show in record time in 2012 during One Last Tour, the venue is Hoyts in the cultural Entertainment Quarter of the city.  Back in Europe one of the most electric shows of the band’s final tour saw 22,000 fans descend on Amsterdam. The iconic De Balie cinema in central Amsterdam’s Leidseplein was the venue for the Dutch screening.

Swedish House Mafia have sold over 1.7 million albums worldwide with their biggest selling single, ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, receiving over 160 million views on VEVO/YouTube and selling nearly 6 million singles worldwide reaching the #1 iTunes spot in 45 countries across the world including the UK. The group were also the first electronic dance music act to headline the world renowned Madison Square Gardens in New York City. Tickets for the show sold out in just 9 minutes.

  1. I saw them at Madison Square Garden, they were just genius! I can highly recommend them, even if the tickets aren't exactly cheap.
