Son of a Policeman (SOAP), Rozella and Donamarie in Tiger Beer Malaysia's battle of the bands final
Three out of 10 shortlisted participating bands (and a solo artiste) have made it to the Tiger Jams final by garnering most of the 100,000 votes in Tiger Beer Malaysia's latest music and art platform. They did it with their own original track before performing live on stage in the previous months. And now they will each be paired with an acclaimed Asian act and an established visual artist to produce a new original Tiger Jams track which will be then handpicked by a mystery international act for a collaboration. All three finalists will also receive a cash prize of RM15,000 each.
Come catch these finalists live along with their music mentors and visual artist collaborators this month in KL. Details as follows;
• August 6th — Son of a Policeman (a.k.a. SOAP, an indie rojak band) at Slate, The Row with The Sam Willows and Donald Abraham
• August 13th – Rozella (electronic music singer from Kota Kinabalu) at The Hive, TREC KL with Darren Ashley and Flex
• August 20th – Donamarie (young four-year-old rap rock band) at KL Venue, Fahrenheit 88 with ToNick and Kenji Chai
“We’re also pleased that Asia took notice of Tiger Jams and is supportive of the local music scene, which brought to the forefront three of the country’s finest emerging talents to have their chance at being on a bigger stage. We hope that music lovers continue to see potential in local and Asian musicians because with proper backing, they can be as good as or even better than international acts.”
